Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, has reportedly sent a court notice to Paresh Rawal, demanding ₹25 crore as damages.
This happened because Paresh Rawal allegedly walked out of the Hera Pheri 3 shoot midway. The news broke out on May 20, and since then, many actors and others connected to the film have expressed shock. Some have even called Paresh Rawal’s actions unprofessional.
Surprised also was Suniel Shetty, who portrayed Shyam in the 2000 original Hera Pheri film. He learned of Paresh Rawal’s leaving via Athiya and Ahaan, his children. Suniel, in Delhi at the time promoting his new film Kesari Veer, told India Today, “I have no information about this. Really startling is it. I initially planned to message him, but then I realized I should meet him and have direct conversation. About what really happened, I have not discussed with anyone.
Suniel added that since the film was already in the middle of production, their situation resembles a crisis. “This is quite shocking for us,” he said.
He said, “We had started already even though we were meant to start fully next year. We had even shot a promo in fact. This is very important. It’s quite startling; I find it difficult to grasp what is happening. And, guess what? Within fifteen minutes, my kids Athiya and Ahaan sent me the news and asked “Papa, what is this?” Feeling stunned, I was in the middle of interviews.
For the past two years, Hera Pheri 3 has generated great buzz. Suniel Shetty also mentioned that this movie is significant for their mental calm as much as for their career. “I’m not sure what will happen going forward,” he remarked.
The following installment of the 2000 popular film Hera Pheri is Hera Pheri 3. The second one surfaced in 2006. Officially scheduled for 2023, Priyadarshan was named as the director earlier this year. Among the principal producers of this movie, Akshay Kumar also purchased the rights from Feroz Nadiadwala.
