Set to premiere in India on December 18, 2024, Girls Will Be Girls will be available for streaming on Prime Video. The film stars newcomers Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron, alongside Kani Kusruti. This Indo-French co-production is backed by Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s Pushing Buttons Studios, in collaboration with French production companies Dolce Vita Films and Crawling Angel Films.

The film made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to receive critical praise at various renowned festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, Cannes, and MAMI.
Reflecting on her first production experience in an interview with SCREEN, Richa explained that the film explores the raw and authentic experiences of young adults, particularly the rebellion of adolescence and the struggles of adulting. Themes like inter-generational conflicts and the desire for independence are central to the story. She expressed her excitement that the film’s universal themes resonated with audiences globally and looked forward to its upcoming release on Prime Video in India, hoping it would connect with a larger audience.
Ali Fazal also spoke about how special Girls Will Be Girls is for both him and Richa.
