Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday Trolled for Praising Brad Pitt Despite Abuse Allegations
Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday are facing backlash online after they showed support for Hollywood actor Brad Pitt on social media. Their posts came after the global release of Pitt’s new film, F1, where he plays a Formula One driver.
What Did Deepika and Ananya Post?
Deepika Padukone posted on her Instagram Stories:
“Brad Pitt. That’s it, that’s the post. IYKYK.”
Ananya Panday also shared her love for Pitt, writing:
“I love the movies!! I love F1!! I love caramel and cheese popcorn!! And I LOVE Brad Pitt.”
With these posts, both actresses joined many fans across the world who appreciated Brad Pitt’s performance in the film.
Why Are They Being Trolled?
Many Reddit users and social media commenters pointed out that Brad Pitt has been accused of domestic violence and child abuse by his ex-wife Angelina Jolie. People were upset that Deepika and Ananya supported Pitt publicly, despite the serious allegations against him.

One comment also mentioned the seriousness of the 2016 plane incident, where Pitt allegedly became violent toward Jolie and their children.

What Happened in 2016?
The most serious accusations against Pitt came from an incident in September 2016, during a private flight from France to Los Angeles. According to Jolie’s court filings:
- Pitt grabbed her by the head, shook her, and when the kids tried to stop him, he allegedly choked one child and hit another.
- He also reportedly poured beer on Jolie and spilled beer and red wine on the children.
Even though Pitt was not criminally charged, these claims were brought up again in 2022 by Jolie during a legal fight over their shared winery. She also said Pitt wanted her to sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) to stop her from speaking out.
Though a court later gave Pitt joint custody, Jolie appealed the decision due to concerns about the judge. As of now, there are no legal charges against Pitt, but many still question him because of the detailed accusations and the fact that his children do not want to be linked with him.
Why Only Deepika and Ananya Got Targeted?
While other Indian celebrities like Karan Johar and Hansal Mehta also praised Brad Pitt’s film, only Deepika and Ananya were criticised heavily online.
