Aamir Khan Faces Boycott Calls Ahead of Sitaare Zameen Par Release

Aamir Khan is again facing boycott calls just before the release of his film Sitaare Zameen Par. The reason is a delayed post from his production house about Operation Sindoor. The trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par was released on Tuesday evening. This film marks Aamir’s return to the big screen after three years and was supposed to be a celebration of his unique filmmaking style.
However, soon after the trailer launch, his production house, Aamir Khan Productions, shared a message on Instagram about Operation Sindoor. It praised the Indian armed forces and thanked the Prime Minister for his leadership. The message read: “Saluting the heroes of Operation Sindoor. Heartfelt gratitude to our armed forces for their courage, bravery and unwavering commitment to the security of our nation. Thank you to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for his leadership and resolve. Jai Hind.” (Also read: Emotional, Hilarious & Unmissable – Aamir Khan’s Comeback in ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ Is Pure Magic)
Operation Sindoor was India’s strong response to terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after the Pahalgam terror attack. But since the operation had taken place more than a week ago, many people found the timing of the post suspicious. They said the post came only because the trailer was releasing that day.
Aamir Khan himself is not on social media, so his production house usually shares such messages on his behalf. While some fans appreciated the post, others felt it was “too little, too late.”

Some people were harsher. One tweet said, “He hates India. He once said he felt unsafe in India. He didn’t say a word when 26 Hindus were killed. He never supported the Indian Army. #BoycottAamirKhan.” Another post shared the movie poster and said, “Time to teach a lesson! #BoycottTurkey #BoycottAamirKhan.”
