“Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ has finally made its way to Netflix, and it’s definitely worth a watch for fans of mystery thrillers. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film stars Jimmy Shergill, Avinash Tiwari, Rajeev Mehta and Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles. The plot centers around the theft of diamonds worth Rs 50 crore, with Avinash (playing Sikandar Sharma) and Tamannaah (playing Kamini Singh) both accused of the crime.
What’s the Film About?
The story kicks off with the high-profile diamond heist during an exhibition, setting the stage for a gripping investigation. Jimmy Shergill plays the determined investigating officer, tasked with solving the case. He zeroes in on three suspects: Avinash, who pretends to be a computer engineer, Tamannaah, and Rajeev Mehta, all of whom were present at the scene of the crime. While the three insist on their innocence, Jimmy is convinced that one (or all) of them must be involved in the theft. But as the investigation deepens, things take a surprising turn when Jimmy himself fails to crack the case.
What Works in ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’?
One of the film’s strongest points is its ability to keep the audience guessing. Neeraj Pandey’s screenplay is smart and layered, gradually pointing fingers at various characters and building suspense along the way. The narrative plays with your expectations, hinting that some of the characters might be in cahoots while constantly misleading the viewers. When the truth finally emerges, the twist is unexpected and clever, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the film.
‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ excels at keeping you on the edge of your seat, as you try to figure out who the real culprit is. It’s a movie that makes you question everything and keeps you hooked right until the final reveal.
Who Is The Best In Sikandar Ka Muqaddar?
Avinash Tiwary takes the spotlight in this film. He essays his role with full dedication and perfection. The actor manages to nail all emotions – innocence to anger and revenge. His scenes with Jimmy Shergill are some of the highlights of the film.
Jimmy plays the role of an investigating officer in the movie but fails to bring anything new for his fans. He will remind you of his character ‘Monty’ in the film Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. Tamannaah Bhatia, on the other hand, looks very weak in this movie. Even though she gives her best, she gets very little screen time and dialogues in the movie.
Divya Dutta also makes a special appearance in the film. She plays the role of Jimmy Shergill’s wife but there is something very mysterious about her character. The way Divya presents her dialogues and expressions, it makes you feel that something’s wrong and that her character might develop big in the sequel to the film (if any).
The Biggest Twist
Neeraj Pandey’s directorial has a surprise for the audience. Just when you think that the culprit is caught, it brings you a twist that you would never have predicted. However, it leaves you with a cliffhanger, with a possibility that there might be a sequel to the film too.
Conclusion?
Overall, Sikandar Ka Muqaddar is a light, one-time-watch film. It relies on the mystery factor and fails to use talented actors to their full potential.
